Born From Love, Built With Grit: The House of Snouts Story
Let’s be honest. Walk down a traditional pet food aisle, and you see shelves filled with brown, over-processed gravel. Most commercial pet foods cut corners, disguising mystery fillers as premium nutrition. But your dog is the furry dictator of your living room. They deserve better than just “good enough.”
“Your dog is the furry dictator of your living room. They deserve better than just good enough”
That realization sparked House of Snouts, an innovative startup rewriting the rules of pet nutrition as India’s very first sous-vide pet food brand. Born out of a chaotic journey of rescue, love, and premium nutrition, here is how they started and why they are radically different.
The Origin: A Graphic Designer and a Furry Garbage Disposal
The story begins with Lanette Alana Rynjah. Growing up in Shillong, Lanette’s house was always entirely outnumbered by dogs. That devotion followed her to Delhi, where a chaotic rescue pup named Hendrix entered her life.
Hendrix had survived a traumatic first eight months, bouncing between adoptive homes like an unwanted ping-pong ball. Despite being deeply anxious, he possessed a heart of gold. Naturally, Lanette adopted him permanently.
Nicknamed “Toopie,” this big boy possessed a terrifyingly voracious appetite and zero boundaries. He treated the entire world like an all-you-can-eat buffet, regularly swallowing his own toys. This led to endless emergency vet visits, explosive digestive ailments, and miserable skin sensitivities.
Desperate to save her carpets and her sanity, Lanette spent eight years experimenting with targeted diets. Today, Toopie is a thriving, playful dog, the ultimate living proof that food is medicine. Realizing she could extend this care to millions of other sensitive pets, the blueprint for House of Snouts was born.
To turn this kitchen experiment into a real business, Lanette partnered with co-founder Abhisek Sharma Roy. Abhisek isn’t your typical corporate suit. Armed with a sharp reputation built through building gritty startups and surviving bold market pivots, he brought the strategic realism and hustle needed to challenge industry giants. Driven by a shared love for animals, Abhisek gladly stepped into entrepreneurship to build a brand that prioritizes long-term animal health over short-term corporate profits.

Why House of Snouts is Radically Different
By collaborating alongside canine nutritionists and veterinarians, House of Snouts engineered a menu that completely avoids the lazy shortcuts taken by mainstream manufacturers:
- India’s First Sous-Vide Pet Food: Instead of blasting food with extreme heat, which cooks out all actual nutrients and tastes like cardboard, they utilize the fancy French culinary method of sous vide. Ingredients are vacuum-sealed and gently slow-cooked at low temperatures to lock in vital vitamins, moisture, and natural aromas. Enjoy a 12-month shelf life with zero freezer space required.
- Strictly Human-Grade Ingredients: The rule is simple: if you wouldn’t put it on your own dinner plate, it doesn’t go into their kitchen. Every recipe features 100% human-grade whole foods, real clean meats, fresh seafood, fruits, and vegetables. No scary chemical preservatives or mystery “animal derivatives”
allowed. - Hypoallergenic & Science-Backed: Inspired by Toopie’s chaotic allergies, they specialize in grain-free formulas that are incredibly gentle on sensitive stomachs, boasting optimal ratios of up to 73% real meat for sustained energy.
- Functional Superfoods: Their meals and single-ingredient toppers (like Anchovies or Pumpkin Purée) are naturally loaded with Omega fatty acids for shiny coats, organ meats for vital vitamins, and natural antioxidants to maintain stellar digestion.
The food is crafted with absolute love, and the ultimate proof? The pets absolutely lose their minds for it!
